Kimberly LaBounty is the president and founder of Apex Management & Special Events, Inc. She grew the company from managing meetings to her vision of a full-service management company. For five years during the company’s growth, Kimberly served as the Executive Director of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois. Apex now employs an outstanding team of eight, manages eight associations and provides meeting and marketing services on a project basis.
Kimberly is a founding board member for MAPs, a Rockford-area nonprofit organization that provides basic necessities to Rockford area children. She has served as program committee chair for the Chicago Association of Direct Marketers nonprofit marketing conference, Direct from the Heart. Kimberly is also on the Small Business Review Panel for Constant Contact, serves on her church board and is an adjunct professor at Lexington College.
Kimberly received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public relations and communications respectively from Illinois State University. She achieved her certification as a meetings manager and has been quoted in industry articles. Kimberly was also inducted into the Illinois Meetings + Events Magazine Hall of Fame as Best Meeting Professional, received the Mary Alexander award for outstanding meritorious service to the Midwest Publishing Association, and is a proud mom and wife.
